The Importance of D A I L Y   H Y D R A T I O NThese hot summer months help us to realize how much water we should be drinking. With excessive heat comes dryness in CO, which in turn drives our urge to gulp gallons of water. Although that same urge may not be as prevalent during the winter, you should be drinking just as much water during those cold months.

Water can stimulate your brain, clear your skin, ease digestion, make your skin softer, and your hair shinier. If you’re craving sweets, chances are you’re just dehydrated!**Here is an easy way to determine how much water to drink: Take your weight, divide it in half, and the number you get is how many ounces you should drink per day!

Find out about other important benefits of water here.

Ironman Boulder Peak TriathlonThe doctors will be attending the Ironman 5150 Series: Boulder Peak Triathlon this coming Sunday, July 14th as a part of the Ironman/ART Treatment Team to treat the participating athletes.  In doing so, they will also receive a new ART Certification in Biomechanics! They will be using their expertise to prime the athletes for the race as well as helping with any injuries they may have sustained while training. The triathlon consists of a 1.5K swim, a 42K bike ride, and a 10K run all around the Boulder reservoir. Feel free to come watch and cheer on the athletes!

What is A.R.T.?Our doctors at New Heights are both full-body certified and trained in Active Release Techniques. Many individuals seek out our office specifically for this technique, however many patients that visit us have never heard of it or are unaware how beneficial it may be for their particular problem. Active Release Techniques (ART) is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system and movement-based technique that addresses problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. Injuries such as tennis elbow, back pain, shin splints, carpal tunnel, and many more are all a result of overused tissue. By performing specific movements and applying tension to the problematic structures, Active Release can eliminate scar tissue build-up and restore function to areas that have contributed to pain.  If you would like to learn more about Active Release check out our website.
